I was reading about the heart and it mentioned myocardial infarctions or heart attacks and then latter covered stroke volume as being the volume of blood pumped by the right/left ventricle of the heart in one contraction. Is that why a heart attack is also called a stroke?
Jill, good morning I hope you are well and having a great Thursday. With regard to your post, that is an excellent question and a common misconception. Many think of heart attacks and strokes as the same thing however, they are not. The difference is that a heart attack is due to a blockage of blood to the heart where a stroke relates to a blockage of blood to the brain.
We hope this helps. Take care and have a great Thursday.
