I have been looking all through the module and cannot find details to how many bones make up the entire body.  It lists a few on pages 48 and 49 but doesn’t seem to list them all. Can you help me please?

Brad, good evening I hope you are well and nearing the end of your work day.  With regard to your question, while we applaud your passion for learning it is unlikely you will need to know all 206 bones in the body for your day to day responsibilities as a trainer.  None-the-less we hope the following helps to expand your existing knowledge base.

 

Cranial bones

1 Ethmoid bone, 1 Frontal bone,

1 Occipital bone, 2 Parietal bones,

1 Sphenoid bone and 2 Temporal bones. 
Facial bones

2 Inferior Nasal Conchae, 2 Lacrimal bones,

1 Mandible, 2 Maxillae, 2 Nasal bones,

2 Palatine bones, 1 Vomer and 2 Zygomatic bones.

Ear Ossicles (bones)

Malleus (Hammer), Incus (Anvil) and Stapes (Stirrup). 3 in each ear 

Hyoid bone 1 

Cervical vertebrae 7 

Thoracic vertebrae 12 

Lumbar vertebrae 5 

Sacrum 1 

Coccyx 1 
Ribs 12 pairs 24

Sternum 1 

Clavicle 1 in each shoulder girdle 2

Scapula 1 in each shoulder girdle 2

Humerus 1 in each arm 2

Radius 1 in each arm 2

Ulna 1 in each arm 2

Carpals 8 in each arm 16

Metacarpals 5 in each arm 10

Phalanges 14 in each arm 28

Hip bone 1 in each leg 2

Femur 1 in each leg 2

Patella 1 in each leg 2
