As I go through the prep materials in the Distance Learning personal trainer prep, I often find myself a big panicked as I take the individual quizzes. Thus far, I have managed to pass all of them.

Now, I am hesitant to click to indicate that I have completed the quiz. I only have one chance since I have gotten the same answer wrong twice. Two out of four have been eliminated, but neither of the two remaining options appears correct to me. Yikes!

This is my dilemma with this type of question:

answer a has one part that is correct and another part that is incorrect, so that has to be eliminated

answer b is the same

answer c is the one that seems now to be the answer (by the process of elimination), but it doesn't sound right to me

answer d sounded correct to me, but according to the quiz, it is incorrect

So, do I go ahead and click C feeling that it is not the correct answer, simply because it is one of 2 that remain, even though I don't think it is correct after reviewing both the "big book" and a study guide I purchased?

In the past, I have questioned the accuracy of some of the online quiz and when I spoke to people at AFAA, they agreed that there was a flaw in the writing of the quiz. While I greatly appreciated the honesty and humility of AFAA's employees, I still harbor a fear that I will go ahead and click and be marked incorrect yet again.

What advise can you give me?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Be well,
Margo

Dear Margo:

Thank you for your message. If I had the specific question you were speaking of I could provide you better clarification.

As to the writing of the test questions AFAA educators look at questions participants feel are difficult or need better clarity and in these instances rewrite new ones.

The quizzes are meant to provide clarity of the key concepts found within each module and enhance the learning process. Many of the quiz questions will be on the final and concepts you will need to know when working with a client.

If you fail a module, no problem...AFAA will reset module 6 once you fill all of the modules prior to your final exam.
,
Please let me know if I can help further. You are doing just fine...keep up the great work!
