Has anyone come up with some memory "tricks" to help remember all of the terminology and formulae we are responsible for when we take the personal trainer exam?

I am most anxious about my ability to remember what I'll need to know on the day of the exam, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd be VERY grateful if you'd share them.

Many thanks.

Yes...you might find it helpful to join a Multitraining Live session so you can hear, see and mimic concepts presented for formulas and kinesiology movements.

I will be happy to provide specific feedback, if you can share with me which concepts for which you are needing additional assistance.

Thanks so much for getting back to me!
As an example of the type of material I find challenging:
The details of the following systems, cycles: ATP, phosphagen , Anaerobic Glycolytic , Aerobic Energy System, Krebs

Also, I am stumped on a question from Module I and am scared to click the SUBMIT button!

13. For clients with balance impairment (that would be older folk and people and anyone who has had a stroke or who has Parkinson's Disease, for instance?) _____ are generally more appropriate than:

a. stair climbers, stationary bikes - stair climbing makes this one wrong
b. weight machines; free weights - I thought free weights would be dangerous here
c. calisthenic movements, floor exercises - I thought this one was correct because they are often used in senior classes????
d. resistance tubes; therapy bands - these are also recommended for senior classes

so... I am stumped.
Can you help?

Many thanks.
Margo

With the energy systems it is important to know which one you are training based on the activity of the client.

Phosphagen - quick intense activities to include, 15-20 seconds - high jump, 100-200 meter running sprints, discus throw, power lifting.

Anaerobic glycolytic - sustained high intensity activities lasting approximately 45-90 seconds - rallies in soccer, ice hockey, basketball

Aerobic - any activity using large muscle groups repetitively for a minimum of 5 minutes at low to moderate intensity - swimming > 1500 meters; running > 5,000 meters,

In question 13, it is asking you to look at was it appropriate and inappropriate for the client in question.

A. yes, good thought
B. this is the correct answer as you would want this client to perform on weight machines verses free weights
C. these formats are similar; the question is asking either/or
D. same as c
