Unfortunately, you are not correct. Chest pain is a symptom of CHD but not a risk factor for it. According to the ACSN, there are 8 risk factors for CHD (Age, Family History, Cigarette Smoking, Sedentary Lifestyle, Obesity, Hypertension, Dyslipidemia, and Prediabetes). In addition to actual risk factors, it is important to ask the client if they have any signs or symptoms suggestive of Cardiovascular, Pulmonary, or Metabolic Disease.
